Plow Blade Edges

This contract for plow blade edges enabled Parks Canada to restock a critically low stock of snow plow blade edges required to maintain safe highway conditions. Without immediate action, the shortage would have created an imminent life-threatening risk to motorists and staff by preventing effective snow and ice control on major highways. The only practicable way to move forward in the available timeframe was under an urgent direct Request for Quotation process. A legitimate objective was applied to allow for deviation from minimum public tendering periods under domestic and international trade agreements. This measure was necessary in order to achieve the legitimate objective, specifically the protection of human, animal and plant life and health.
