NRCan is planning to purchase a one high-pressure, high-temperature electrolyser, specifically a pilot-scale electrolyser. This purchase will provide NRCan with a unit capable of conducting numerous electrolytic reactions using several feedstocks to develop fundamental knowledge and new technologies for achieving Canada's energy and environmental goals. Its versatility for general electrolysis will yield valuable data for current and future projects at CanmetENERGY-Devon, including CCUS, bio-oil upgrading, and hydrogen production.
