The City of Calgary is an authorized employer under the Alberta Government’s Public Security Peace Officer Program. In accordance with the Public Security Peace Officer Program Policies and Procedures manual, to provide Emergency Response, Community Peace Officers must complete a provincially accredited 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, with a provincially certified EVOC driving instructor which includes a theoretical approach with hands-on application.
