Causal Impact Analysis of the Banc-des-Américains Marine Protected Area on fishing Activities in Quebec

Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), mandated by the Strategic Services (SS) division of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region (DFO-QR), seeks to establish a service contract to conduct an ex post causal impact assessment of the establishment of the Banc-des-Américains Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Quebec. This mandate will first involve a comprehensive literature review of econometric and statistical methods used internationally to measure the impacts of marine protected areas (MPAs), followed by the selection of a methodological approach tailored to the specific context of the Banc-des-Américains MPA.
