Advancing Artificial Intelligence through Standardization Strategies and Tools
Faire progresser l’intelligence artificielle (AI) grâce à des stratégies et des outils de normalisation
Description
In June 2018, the Government of Canada launched the National Digital and Data Consultation to hear Canadians’ perspectives and ideas about innovation in the digital global economy and the data ecosystem. This led to the publication of Canada’s Digital Charter in 2019, to which SCC responded with the launch of the Data Governance Standardization Collaborative (DGSC) to accelerate the development of industry-wide data governance standardization strategies.
The Collaborative consulted with a group of 220 Canadians across government, industry, civil society, Indigenous organizations, academia, and Standards Development Organizations (SDOs). Under the guidance of the DGSC Standardization Collaborative, the Canadian Data Governance Standardization Collaborative Roadmap was published in 2021. Building on this, SCC established the Artificial and Data Governance Standardization Program in 2022 to address recommendations from the DGSC Roadmap and identify new areas where standards and conformity assessment are needed to advance AI and data governance.
Through the present Call for Proposals: Advancing Artificial Intelligence through Standardization Strategies and Tools, SCC seeks standardization strategies to address new areas of standardization for Artificial Intelligence. This is an opportunity for interested parties to submit proposals for funding for projects that align with one of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) standardization areas indicated in Eligible Projects.
