The Centre of Alberta Natural Area proclaimed October 7, 1989, under order in council 416/98, encompasses the geographical centre of Alberta. The staging area to access the trails which lead to the geographic centre of Alberta, is approximately 25 km northwest of Fort Assiniboine on Hwy 33. The Center of Alberta is accessible via two different unimproved seismic trails from the staging area.
