Description

The Scope of Work under this Contract includes in-situ groundwater remediation consisting of a single pass injection of iron-activated sodium persulfate oxidant in five (5) existing wells. Active removal of light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) from one or more injection wells immediately prior to oxidant injection is also included in the remediation program. No drilling work is required to complete the scope of work. Details of the site are provided in the site assessment and pilot testing reports annexed to the technical specifications. The primary contaminants of concern (COCs) in groundwater are petroleum hydrocarbons. No infrastructure at the Maintenance Camp will be available to the Contractor with the exception of existing wells to be used for injection. The Contractor’s use of the site shall be limited to the designated work areas for the Project.The remediation work will be conducted at the Steamboat Maintenance Camp located 80 km west of Fort Nelson, BC at kilometer 537.9 of the Alaska Highway.Specifications and Drawings will be included and posted in Phase two Invitation to Tender.
